A Few Dylan Things...

There really isn't too much going on here, so I thought I'd put a few things down that Dylan has said today. He said two words that I haven't heard him say before and it kind of surprised me. So here goes...

Dylan: "Transform this transformer daddy. Be careful and don't break it, Transformers are fragile."

Last night, DT had an accident and wet his bed. It was actually my fault b/c I let him have a milk shake not too long before bed. This morning we were discussing which blankets were actually soiled and he said:

"This blanket is okay because it doesn't smell like urine."

I know these are common words but I just wasn't expecting them.

Sad news....

Heath Ledger

I'm sad to read that Heath Ledger has died. I have to admit (don't laugh) that one of my absolute favorite movies is "10 Things I Hate About You" and I have been known to watch "A Knights Tale" every time it comes on tv. The fact that I found him very... pleasing to look at, didn't make it too hard to watch. Anyway, I was just kind of saddened and thought I would share.

**********
Udate: I am now totally sad (but not crying) about Heath Ledger's death. I guess it had to sink in a little. Also, does anyone else find it somewhat morbid that Fox News is streaming live video in front of his apartment?

Help...

I need help in changing my background. Is it similar to myspace? I don't know where to go or anything, so if anyone would like to give me a hand with this, it would be greatly appreciated!

Ridiculous....I know!

I found this funny but it might just be me...

Here are two pictures from yesterday's snow. It was so beautiful and the snow flakes were huge. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to go and at least stand in it. Afterwards we went in and had hot chocolate by the fire. Actually, the boys got to sit by the fire and drink their hot chocolate... I was in the kitchen making chili. We didn't get any accumulation but it was still fun.

What's that white stuff falling down?

It's snow! It's snow!

Yay... I can't believe it is actually snowing. Once again the meteorologists were wrong, they took snow out of the forecast. God has a great sense of humor. Time to go play.

Beautiful Nail...

My mom and I went and got mani/pedicures Saturday and it reminded me of this video I saw a few months ago.

My experience wasn't exactly like that but they did speak Spanish the whole time. When she did speak English, I couldn't understand what she was directing me to do. Still, it is so nice to be pampered. I felt so girlie...loved it!

Just a fan...

I was in line at a store today and had Dylan with me. The following is a conversation I had with a lady in her late 50's-early 60's.
Lady: "I like your shirt." (to Dylan, wearing an Auburn hoodie)
Me: "Tell her thank you."
Dylan: "Thank you"
Lady: "Did you graduate from there?"
Me: "No but my father-in-law did. I had considered it but fell in love, married and had my son instead." (this was my mistake)
Lady: "My husband, son and daughter all graduated from there. My daughter is now a CPA, THANK GOD! Young girls today, don't know the importance of a good education. We let our kids know they had to go to college and get a degree. You know, it should be the other way around. (college, marriage, baby)"
Me:
"Well I wouldn't trade my little family for anything."
Lady: "Oh, of course."
Me: "I've been very blessed. My husband works hard so I can stay home, raise our son and go to school full time and I am doing much better this time around."
Lady: "That's great."
Now it is her turn with the cashier. Lucky her.

Ugh! This isn't the first time for something like this to happen. I've had similar conversations and looks thrown my way. I set myself up this time but that is ok. She really was a nice lady and I don't believe she meant anything by it but still... too bad it was an Auburn fan.

new year... new blogger

I haven't really had a chance to review 2007 or look to 2008 but I know 2007 is over and I'm happy. It wasn't the worst year but it wasn't that grand either. Since I am trying to be a more positive person (not a New Year resolution by the way) here is my top 10 list of good things that I can remember about 2007:

1~ Casey no longer works in H'sville everyday.
2~ My cute little nephew, Jake, came into the world healthy and happy!
3~ I passed all of my classes (and with good grades too).
4~ Dylan started preschool.
5~ I got to see Christi and her family. She is like a sister I get to see about once every 5 yrs.
6~ Casey and I celebrated our FIVE year anniversary. We didn't make it to Vegas like we'd planned five years ago but that's ok.
7~ The Holiday's were great... lots of food, family and friends. I got BOSE iPod earbuds (I've wanted some kind of BOSE product for the longest time...these were perfect), camera tripod, wireless router for my laptop, the best smelling candle, a backpack to go hiking with, gift certificates galore (I love 'em), and some other wonderful things that my foggy brain won't let loose of.
8~ We finally...ok, mostly finished our bedroom and master bathroom. 'Master bathroom' sounds like a great bathroom but it's about the size of a closet. At least it has a full shower/bath.
9~ I got to go on a beach trip with three lovely ladies and it was a blast! I'm ready to go again and soon.
10~ I am alive, healthy, happy and loved. I couldn't ask for anything else.

Now, a few things I am looking forward to in 2008:

1~ We are still hoping for a baby this year. Keep your fingers crossed.
2~ Unless he changes him mind, we will be purchasing my brother-in-laws camper, which means a lot of weekend trips to anywhere b/c rv parks/campgrounds are cheap. And since we are getting the camper...
3~ ...Casey is taking me back home to Arkansas in the spring!!! I can't wait. This little development has only come about in the last few days and I am so excited. We will spend a few days in the Ozarks camping and hiking and then we will head down to Hot Springs for a few days. The only times I've been back in Hot Springs were for funerals, so this is so exciting for me.
4~ Again keep your fingers crossed... Casey loves to bar-b-que and will hopefully have a stand at the Alabama Jubilee this May. If you make it out there this year, stop by and support him. He does a great job and he is hoping this will be something he can do for a long time. Plus, I need new tires for my car. :)
5~ I look forward to continuing to update our 1980's home. The wallpaper is awful and to make matters worse, the oh-so-kind folks that put it up didn't prepare the walls. They put it on the bare sheet rock (or whatever its called) so when you go to take it off the walls, chunks of sheet rock come with it! It's a pain y'all.
6~ We are also talking about taking a trip to Savannah, GA this year with our friends Ken and Emily. I've ALWAYS wanted to go and it would be fun with them.
I think that is enough for one person to look forward to for now.

here goes a bunch of nothing...

Okay, so this is my first post. I'm actually kinda nervous about all of this. I'm not much of a writer but I enjoy reading other blogs and thought it might be kinda fun.

Since I did this all on a whim and it is only 8:00 in the morning, I don't really have anything to write about, except for how tired I am. I'm already being bombarded with a hundred questions from Dylan so I suppose I should go and answer at least one. Maybe I'll have something more exciting on here later.

Oh, if anyone can let me know how to find different backgrounds for this thing, I would appreciate it.
